My sweet friend Kay died today. She was a fiercely independent 85 year old. She joined the church about 8 years ago. Her son is the bishop of one of the singles wards and since he and his wife attend church in Cambridge, Kay drove herself to church every week. Kay got sick in early January and wasn't able to leave the house since she was on oxygen. I visited her every Sunday and once during the week on my way home from work. I always enjoyed our visits; Kay was delightful. Two Sundays ago I went to visit her and she was in her bedroom. When I walked into the room she said, "Welcome to my boudoir!" Last Sunday was the last time I was able to talk to Kay. When I went by Wednesday night she was asleep in her room. I've already missed seeing Kay on the back row of the chapel and R.S. room and now I'm going to miss visiting her at her home.

I'm so sad. I keep thinking about her.
She was so inspirational. I loved her testimony when she got baptized and so many other things. I'll miss her.
i'm sorry.
You are such a great friend to so many.
What a great friend you are. I love her comment about her "boudoir." Sounds like she was quite a lady!
Great picture, Ellen. Kay was a great person. I will always treasure the baby blanket she made for Nellie.
