Soren wouldn't let me take a photo of his missing tooth but I snuck a shot of his whiteboard. Read it. He's 4. And he's one of my favorites in my ward. He always says hello to me. #arlingtonwardfriendsareforever #wearemormon #ldschurch
I'm selling baked goods! It will be a different thing each month. August is Blueberry Cake for $20. Let me know if you're interested or if you need a review but trust me, it's good. Local orders only. #EPtreatofthemonth
I snuck some photos of Emily Raymond's laundry room doors. She runs marathons and she wins marathons. And she is an all around awesome person. I'm always bragging about her and I'm one of her biggest fans.
Remember the letter Phoebe wrote me inviting me to go to the Aquarium with her with free tickets she won? Today was the day. We took the subway into the city and had a great time. She didn't want to leave until she touched a stingray. OK then. #arlingtonwardfriendsareforever #funwithphoebe
My friends Allison and Brittanie and I had our lobster roll class tonight and it was really fun and the lobster rolls were delicious. We also had watermelon, corn, chips, and I made a blueberry cake. #lobsterrollclass
I sat by this family on the T and we got chatting and they live in Mesa and are Mormon! And he's from St. Johns, Arizona and knows my friends the Pattersons who are from there. It's a small SMALL ep world! #makenewfriends #wearemormon
This is Bert. He was reactivated in the Arlington Ward (he's from Maine, went to BYU as a non-member, joined the church after graduating, served a mission in Italy) and his story is very interesting. He had some health issues (which left him unable to drive and work) and a change of heart and because of a visit from two members in the ward he realized he still had a spark of a testimony and he came back to church after a few decades of being away. He has served in our ward and has been the most generous friend to everyone. Today was his last Sunday in the Arlington Ward and he will be missed. He has given lots of gifts, supported fundraisers, taken the activity day girls to brunch and given them flowers, given See's suckers out to everyone one Sunday a month, shared his story and testimony. We will miss him. He is moving to Maine to live with his sister. Godspeed, Bert. #arlingtonwardfriendsareforever
Last Sunday Isaac was sitting on the piano bench with his dad and playing this song and I wanted to videotape him but was in the middle of a conversation. When they announced he was playing the musical number today in Sacrament Meeting I made sure to get close enough to record it. This little boy will turn 4 this week. He did a fantastic job. Sadly they are moving next week but we all know that #arlingtonwardfriendsareforever. #isaacisachildofgod
I had the new Zimmers over for lunch today. We enjoyed fractured tacos, fruit and they made a blueberry pie for dessert. The 14 year old girl said my apartment was hip. I'll take that! #putthoseblueberriestouse #arlingtonwardfriendsareforever
I went to Nordstrom last night to check out the big sale and was underwhelmed. #disappointedattraderjoesdisappointedatnordstrom But I bought this shirt that wasn't on sale. #doesanybodycarewhatiwear #suckerforpeplum #nsale2017
This is Jenna. We have been instagram friends for a while, have loads of mutual friends, and even saw each other at Kimballs a few months ago but didn't say hi (since when am I shy?!?). We exchanged a few messages recently and I invited her over for ice cream today and we are going to go to dinner in a few weeks. So now we are friends IRL. #makenewfriends #bostonfriendsarethebestfriends
I tried to make raspberry ice cream the other night but it didn't work and it must have been because the bowl wasn't in the freezer for a full 24 hours (22 wasn't enough?!?). So raspberry ice take 2 tonight. And it's delicious. #epmakesicecream
I sold these mint brownies to a friend headed to Cape Cod on vacation. Stay tuned for EP TREAT OF THE MONTH details. This is happening! August is for blueberry cakes. #ilovetobake #ilovetobakeandmakemoney #EPtreatofthemonth
I went to Trader Joe's tonight for baking soda and baking powder because I like their matching round containers. When I couldn't find them I asked a worker where they were and she said, "we only have those in the winter when people bake." I'm a mix of annoyed and confused. So I bought these "summer flowers". #sincewhenisbakingseasonal #noEPtreatofthemonthforthem
I went blueberry picking today for the first time! I invited my new friends the Zimmers. It was a really fun outing. My #epsummerbucketlist2017 is going strong (I'm 3 for 3). I just bought bottles and pectin at the local hardware store. Next up: blueberry jam!
I was born and raised in Van Nuys, California. I moved to Boston sight-unseen and have loved living in New England since that day when I said, "this apartment is OLD". My hobbies are antiquing, reading books and magazines (bring back Blueprint and Domino please), sewing, quilting, sightseeing, watching movies, and photography. I love the color red and have a retro red refrigerator (and kitchen aid mixer and ice cream maker and toaster and...) to prove it! I live in a converted high school and love decorating my loft condo (w/ 18 foot ceilings) that was formerly the auditorium. I have 3 brothers, 11 nieces and nephews, and a bus fleet of friends.
