I lived in Roman Gardens my last two years at BYU and it was a great place with great people. It was fun to reconnect with roommates and friends. We shared memories and talked about our lives and shut down the Olive Garden! #romangardensforever #episbackinutah2016
I've been wanting to try Graham Canyon so bought a half gallon. And a half gallon of Mint Brownie. I'm serious about eating my way around the Beehive State. #episeatingherwayaroundthebeehivestate #hidethescale #episbackinutah2016
I met my friend Jane (lovely mother of Mary Staples) for lunch at The Dodo. I had the turkey sandwich and banana cream pie. It was worth all the hype! #episeatingherwayaroundthebeehivestate #episbackinutah2016
My Pitchforth grandparents lived at the Bell Wines for years. I have so many memories here including the time John and I locked our grandpa in his locker in the basement (and grandma Pitchforth called Nan and told her to come and get us and she drove from LA the next day to get her bratty redheads). They lived in that bottom left apartment. #pattonmemories #episbackinutah2016
I've followed @darlybird on instagram, have been to her store @harmonyprovo and her sister @susannahfurr lived in my ward in Boston. It was a treat to meet Rachel IRL. #makemorefriends #wallpaperenvy #episbackinutah2016
My grandma's house is across the street but you can't really see it because of the trees. I love this house. And how cool to have cousins live right across the street. #pattonmemories #episbackinutah2016
My friend's mom passed away this summer and last month I asked if she had a piece of her mom's clothing that I could repurpose for her. She gave me a red/blue striped t-shirt that was special to her. I asked my friend Natalie to make this adorable doll (more subcontracting!) and I got it today and gave it to my friend for her little girl Cora. My friend was very touched when she saw the doll and Cora immediately hugged it. There is more of the shirt left and I have plans to make a few more things.
I don't ever remember seeing a crowd this big at a Relief Society event. A woman from the Nashua Stake spoke about her family traveling to Greece this summer and helping refugees. It was very inspiring.
Our stake is collecting items for refugees in the area and putting together hygiene kits as part of our evening with the Women's Broadcast. I am going to donate my living room furniture to refugees and the woman pictured here is helping me coordinate that. I'm so glad we are doing something practical and helpful. #lotsofpads #cambridgestake #wearemormons
I'm going to be in Utah next weekend and there will be an Arlington Ward reunion Sunday, October 2nd, from 6-8PM at Adam and Janae Cox's church building in Draper (1617 East 12700 South)!! Bring some food to share and you'll get to see me and lots of other Boston friends! #arlingtonwardfriendsareforever
I'm hosting Book Group tomorrow night and am preparing some retro refreshments. The book: "When Everything Changed: the amazing journey of American Women from 1960 to present". Notice the timer on the microwave? I'm serving some Patton family favorites--deviled ham sandwiches, green jello with cottage cheese and pineapple, Bugles, and white trash graham cracker treats (poor man's cookie -- chocolate frosting between graham crackers).
I was born and raised in Van Nuys, California. I moved to Boston sight-unseen and have loved living in New England since that day when I said, "this apartment is OLD". My hobbies are antiquing, reading books and magazines (bring back Blueprint and Domino please), sewing, quilting, sightseeing, watching movies, and photography. I love the color red and have a retro red refrigerator (and kitchen aid mixer and ice cream maker and toaster and...) to prove it! I live in a converted high school and love decorating my loft condo (w/ 18 foot ceilings) that was formerly the auditorium. I have 3 brothers, 11 nieces and nephews, and a bus fleet of friends.
