I have only been to the Manhattan Temple once since the open house in 2004. I did some Temple work yesterday and nobody cared that I was a sweaty mess in jeans. #ilovetoseethetemple #manhattantemple #epnyc2016
My reason to go to NYC was to attend the World Stamp Show. I only stayed about 15 minutes; it wasn't what I expected. After that I hit the subway (and the wrong subway) and cabs and went to Brooklyn Flea, Four and Twenty Blackbirds, Flying Tiger, Dough and Muji. It was SO hot and steamy but I kept moving and really enjoyed the day. I took the bus down and back and got an extra seat both ways which was great. It was a really fun day.
I skipped lunch today and left work early and came to the Boston Common to see the garden of flags which was planted in memory of every fallen Massachusetts service member from the Revolutionary War to the present. #memorialday #bostoncommon #boston
My boss Karla had her citizenship interview today and I put together a little red, white and blue celebration. #nowiftrumpbecomespresidenthecantsendherbacktohercountry #thankyoutargetdollaraisle #karlatheamerican
My friend asked me to take photos at a University Ward reunion tonight. It was mostly people who were in that ward when Clayton Christensen was the bishop. He and his wife Christmas have influenced so many lives. #bostonfriendsareforever
I put a package together while I was in Utah and my friend Cherie Zimmerman delivered it to Hermana Patton the other night for her birthday. Feliz cumpleanos to her today! She's 21 and serving an amazing mission in Salt Lake City. #proudaunt #nikebox
The Pattons are head over heels and tickled pink about their latest addition, Adrienne Teressa, born 7 minutes after mom checked into the hospital, weighing 6 pounds 6 ounces and measuring 19 1/2 inches. #pattonmemories #myfirstniece
It was 28 years ago today that I arrived in Boston, sight unseen, and this adventure began! #itwasthebestdecisionievermade #imovedherewheniwasten #ihadonefriendanaddressandaphonenumber #ilovebostonandnewengland
Tonight I had dinner with the Sainsburys and McDowells. Marlies and I grew up in the Van Nuys 3rd Ward and her mom was my Merrie Miss teacher and is one of my favorite people. Chrissy has 5 kids and is Marlies' daughter. I met Chrissy for the first time tonight though we have been social media buddies for a while. The salmon dinner was delicious and it was so nice to reconnect with Marlies and her husband Bob and hang out with all of them. #ihavethebestfriends #vannuysthirdwardfriendsareforever
I was born and raised in Van Nuys, California. I moved to Boston sight-unseen and have loved living in New England since that day when I said, "this apartment is OLD". My hobbies are antiquing, reading books and magazines (bring back Blueprint and Domino please), sewing, quilting, sightseeing, watching movies, and photography. I love the color red and have a retro red refrigerator (and kitchen aid mixer and ice cream maker and toaster and...) to prove it! I live in a converted high school and love decorating my loft condo (w/ 18 foot ceilings) that was formerly the auditorium. I have 3 brothers, 11 nieces and nephews, and a bus fleet of friends.
