I haven't had the missionaries over for dinner in years. Since I'm single I have to have additional people over in order to have them over and I refuse to feed an "entourage". I know--bad attitude (because I have lots of groups of people over). Anyway, my cousin Darlene taught seminary and piano to Elder Clarke so I told him I'd make an exception and tonight I had 3 people over plus the Elders. #iamamormonwithanattitude
P.S. Never fear--every few months I give them baked goods at church.
If you've never baked an Angel Food Cake from scratch, grab a dozen eggs and do it! The recipe is so easy (google it -- all the recipes are basically the same). This is for strawberry shortcake tomorrow night. #notpartofmyprogram #whosaidiwashavingany Hint: I separate the eggs in my hands and you will need cake flour. #bakesomeonehappy #ilovetobake #cakeonthefloor
These farewells at Kimballs are bittersweet. Godspeed to Utah, you Palmers. And 4 spoons? I think they were decoys. #icecreamgoodbyes #arlingtonwardfriendsareforever #eventhosewhogotbumpedtoanotherwardandstake
My coworker Mary celebrated her 80th birthday traveling around the world for 80 days -- literally -- and is back and I've been asking her about her trip. I'm so envious! #sheaskedwhyiwastakingherphoto #caughtnotsmiling #maryoninsta
I bought a new phone and needed a case and screen protector for it. One of the IT guys at work tipped me off that MicroCenter will match Amazon prices. It was worth the hassle to get there tonight. The case was $22.99 and the screen protector was $9.99. I saved $37.00! #bam #ipaidfullpriceforthepepsi
Like I said...lots of AW alums visit in the summer. Carrie (LaPierre) Hill is visiting with her family (she has 7 kids!). I've known her since she was a kid and can't even count how many movies I saw and outings I went on with Carrie and her twin Lisa...including the Hill Cumorah Pageant and NYC (where we got separated on the subway--a story for a TBT). Carrie is a gem and I loved reconnecting with her tonight and seeing 5/7 of her kids. #arlingtonwardfriendsareforever #awalumsummervisitors2017 #plumislandsunburn
It's another summer of Arlington Ward alumni visitors--the Manwarings are back! I love when friends visit. Like I say, no offense but if you live in Dubuque, Iowa I don't think people come back to visit but if you live in Boston they do! I love my Arlington Ward people. #arlingtonwardfriendsareforever #AWalumsummervisitors2017 #streetphotography #literally
Our ward choir is amazing. #amirightoramiright Today they teamed up with the Belmont 2nd Ward choir and sang Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing. It was so beautiful. This violin (or is it a viola?) belongs to one of the deacons in our ward. I am always inspired by the music in our ward. #arlingtonwardchoirmusicalnumbersareforever
I was born and raised in Van Nuys, California. I moved to Boston sight-unseen and have loved living in New England since that day when I said, "this apartment is OLD". My hobbies are antiquing, reading books and magazines (bring back Blueprint and Domino please), sewing, quilting, sightseeing, watching movies, and photography. I love the color red and have a retro red refrigerator (and kitchen aid mixer and ice cream maker and toaster and...) to prove it! I live in a converted high school and love decorating my loft condo (w/ 18 foot ceilings) that was formerly the auditorium. I have 3 brothers, 11 nieces and nephews, and a bus fleet of friends.
