Meeting Jenna

I finally met Jenna Willardson tonight.  She was wearing the RED dress I mailed her the week she was born and she's adorable. #arlingtonwardfriendsareforever

I still have ranunculus in two vases.  These are for my good friend Kimberly.  FYI -- that's snow.

Last day at MIT

My best work buddy is moving to Ohio tomorrow.  It's been a great 8+ years working with her.  Her stories and impressions and friendship will be missed.  This is us with William Barton Rogers the founder of MIT (he watches over us all day).  Boston's loss is Ohio's gain.  Godspeed good buddy.

Ranunculus

More of these for me and more for a friend.

TBT: Elder Robert Patton

This photo was taken in the Salt Lake City airport the day Robes flew to his mission in Brussels.  Yesterday his daughter Hermana Adrienne Patton left the MTC for the SLC South Mission.  She was telling people that she was riding a bike from the MTC to her mission.

Boston Sweet Boston

I'm home and for a change it wasn't nighttime and I was on the right side of the plane to get some shots of my city.

Nan in Portland

This is a drive-by photo of the apartment my mom lived in a long time ago when she taught school in Portland for a year (and my almost aunt Shirley was her roommate).  She always wanted to return to Portland and that's why my parents moved there 21 years ago.

TBT: the Patton kids (obviously) in Texas

My dad inherited a farm in Vigo Park, TX when we were kids and we visited during the summer.  The farm had fields of wheat, cotton, maize and sorghum.  We loved telling our friends that we had a farm in Texas.  I'm glad we have so many candid shots from our childhood.  #pattonmemories

Pritchett family photos

Diane Pritchett had the idea to do their family photos in one of her husband's classrooms at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.  It was perfect and really fun to be with this really cool family yesterday (their youngest returned from his mission a few days ago).

TBT: in front of Virginia Perry's house

Virginia Perry was a family friend--a friend of Grandma Patton's.  We visited her often and every time we visited, she had a bag of goodies for each of us.  Stuff like old perfume bottles, empty margarine containers, books, etc.  I always wondered where she got all this great stuff and years later realized it must have been from yard sales.  But she was very thoughtful.  I remember she had a picture of JFK in her living room and she lived in this cool little bungalow house in Ventura, California.  #pattonmemories

YW activity: Easy meals

Tonight's YW activity was making easy meals.  We had pasta with hollandaise sauce, orange "ambrosia" salad, and quesadillas.  It was really fun, the girls all helped out and the food was yummy.  And, I gave them each a little recipe book.  #arlingtonwardyoungwomen #ihatethechurchkitchen
