Family Home Evening

Tonight there was no singing, no lesson, no activity. Just a treat.

I baked myself an apple pie.

Ooh, that looks divine! I'm sure it tasted DELICIOUS! By the way, I love your apple-peeling machine. Way cool! And there's a thank you note in the mail, but thank you so much for your kindness in sending me your photo cards. I received them today. What a nice thing for you to do! Ellen, you're the best!!!

Looks fabulous! I had every intention of making an apple crisp for FHE tonight. Do McD's apple pies count, instead?

Conor went apple picking for a special birthday outing with our neighbors --- I told him that we needed to make apple pie. He said, "The only problem is that the only pie I like is PUMPKIN." It made me laugh. Your apple pie looked divine.

Like you, I prefer my FHE without the F.

No Family means no Fistfights or Foodfights.

And, if you're talking about my Family, no F-words either.

You know what I'm talkin' about.

Did you at least use manna or unlevened dough or anything?

JK, the pie looks great.

Apple pie is a tradition of "Grandma" at Thanksgiving and Christmas for us. It looks like you definitely know how to bake a pie. Grandmas secrets were dots of butter on top of the apple filling before you put the crust on top and then lightly spread milk on top of the crust and sprinkle with sugar. The milk makes your crust brown nicely. She shredded the apples in the filling too. We love apple pie.

We would have gladly come over and shared the pie with you. We would have even brought the lesson and sung for you. Just give us a call!
