This is so funny. I was just at Stop & Shop Arlington last night to just to pick up some last minute items for a dinner last night, and the place was indeed a mad house. I came home and told Shaunna "you'd think the Blizzard of 78 was upon us the way people were crazily stocking up on supplies"
That is so true. I went to the store to pick up some movies for tonight. The produce section was already empty (this was at 9:30am, the meat was pretty well cleared out, and the shelves well on their way. The two gas stations in our town are already out of gas and the snowplows are already everywhere. CRAZY!
i always wonder if it's always the SAME people out crazily buying everything on the shelves before every storm. I NEVER go out...too crazy. Guess that's why we are asked to be prepared. I LOVE snow storms. What day are we doing LUNCH? :)
We were just describing that classic comic strip to a friend of ours the other day when we were trying to explain the way easterners react to a coming storm. Hope you all survive! We probably got a foot of snow today--huge storm--and noone even batted an eye.
This is soooooo true! I couldn't even find a parking space at the Market Basket yesterday--every single spot was taken. Oh, and all the Lays potato chips were gone too!
I was born and raised in Van Nuys, California. I moved to Boston sight-unseen and have loved living in New England since that day when I said, "this apartment is OLD". My hobbies are antiquing, reading books and magazines (bring back Blueprint and Domino please), sewing, quilting, sightseeing, watching movies, and photography. I love the color red and have a retro red refrigerator (and kitchen aid mixer and ice cream maker and toaster and...) to prove it! I live in a converted high school and love decorating my loft condo (w/ 18 foot ceilings) that was formerly the auditorium. I have 3 brothers, 11 nieces and nephews, and a bus fleet of friends.

Good luck with that, hope it isn't as bad as they say it's going to be.
I love New England snow storms. You get to be "stuck" in your house for days. :) You should have seen the line at Video Horizons.
