24/7

I think it's a good thing that not too many stores in New England are open 24/7 (L.L. Bean is a whole different story!). It adds to the charm. However, it is nice to be able to find groceries after midnight and while on vacation I was glad that Smiths was open 24/7 so I could get the ingredients for ice cream sundaes!

The relative scarcity of 24 hour shopping in New England took some getting used to. When we moved from Brookline to Woburn, I had to go find some food for 21 month old Christina and ended up driving to 4 different grocery stores.

My favorite is the so-called 24 hour grocery store that closes on Saturday night at 12 PM. I guess those 24 hours aren't in a row.

Love those wafer cookies!

My favorite 24 hour store out here is the bail bond store that is open twenty FIVE hours a day.

Favorite to drive past.

Just wanted to clarify.

I sure do miss 24/7 gas stations and grocery stores. I guess New England tries to prepare it's people by forcing them to buy what they need during the day (some call this planning ahead, something I'm trying to learn how to do).
