Lights out
Thanks to a nor'easter in October I have no power. Stay tuned for photos of all my formerly frozen food I'll have to toss.

Turkey terrific
You are looking at true comfort food. This sandwich from Neillios Gourmet Kitchen is delicious. It's turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce on a french roll. The day I closed on my condo I bought a turkey terrific and ate it on the Lexington Green.

Dinner with good friends
My friends the Souliers were in town this week from NoCal. We went to dinner tonight at The Border Cafe. Their girls were visiting with former school friends but Oliver came along. There were lots of laughs and stories. I'm glad I live in a place where people come back to visit.

Texas forever
I finished watching Friday Night Lights tonight--76 episodes in 30 days (please don't do the math). I loved it.

BYU Alumni event
Last night I went to a BYU Alumni event that featured the art of Leslie Graff, a BYU graduate, artist and humanitarian. All 30 of her Domestic Series paintings were there. I love these paintings. I'll tell the story of how how I met Leslie in another post. Leslie was featured on DesignMom a few months ago (I emailed Gabrielle and sent her a link to Leslie's website). It was nice to see Leslie last night and hear her talk about her paintings.

Saturday drive
I went for a drive this afternoon (to pick up season 4 of Friday Night Lights at the Weston Library). It's the best time of year; Fall in New England.

Big Move
Jenn's move was tonight. They (EQ Movers) tried move a big, heavy dresser/armoire over the balcony (after 30 minutes of trying to move it down the stairs and out the front door). I yelled to them, "say a prayer!" I heard one of the guys say, "there isn't a guy up here not saying a prayer." The railing broke and it was kind of scary! Plan B was to pull the top off--and then it fit down the hall and out the door. Then they lowered a couch off the balcony. The truck is totally loaded (between the engineers, Tetris champs, and lots of experienced movers) and Jenn and Adler are on their way to Oklahoma. It's a huge loss for the Arlington Ward family but they'll be back to visit.

A special quilt for a special boy
A few of us had the idea to make a quilt for Adler after his dad died. Jenn gave us a stack of Dave's work shirts to use. Rebecca Menzie made the quilt top a few months ago and I finished it last night. It's really cool; I love the buttons and the pockets. Jenn and Adler both loved the quilt when I delivered it tonight. I'm not a procrastinator; they don't leave until Saturday.

Families are Forever
My friend Jenn and her little boy Adler are moving next weekend to Oklahoma. I'm still in denial though I did instigate changing the closing song in Relief Society today to "God Be with You Till We Meet Again". Adler's grandparents have watched him a few days a week since he was very young and so I wanted to take some photos of them together. I went over tonight and it was very sweet to see them together. There are a lot of people who are going to miss Jenn and Adler--especially his Omi and Opa.

Sarah's baby shower
Today I hosted a baby shower for my friend Sarah. She's having a boy in a few weeks. There were lots of cute clothes in those gift bags; he'll be the best dressed kid in town!

Everybody cut loose
I saw the Footloose remake tonight and liked it. Some of the lines were the same and this version is PG-13 (as opposed to PG). I was dancing in the aisle of the movie theater. Not really. But I was tapping my toes.
