Grandpa Pitchforth

My grandpa Pitchforth was born June 1, 1900 and died June 1, 1988. I have lots of memories of him -- walking with him to the Post Office in downtown Salt Lake City (he did that every day), driving this car ("my car") way before I was old enough, hearing his stories about growing up in Nephi, Utah, fishing in Park City, and locking him in his own storage locker. Ooops!

Note: Why did I let someone photograph me with pink sponge rollers in my hair?!?

It's interesting how many people I hear of who pass away on their own birthday, or another significant day. You were such a cute kid!!

I think if it were me, I wouldn't have been able to resist calling him Grandpa Pitchfork! I love his name.

grandpa was cute..I always thought how neat and tidy his life was..June 1 1900-June 1 1988..
Although he was a bit quirky, I remember him in the hospital asking for grandma saying, "Where is my sweatheart?" I never remember anything like that before that moment...I loved how he shared his love of stamps with us..
