There's a lot of love in this photo - Feb 5th

This photo of Lee and Dottie LaPierre was taken at one of the kids' weddings (Lisa's maybe) -- they are looking at their family in front of the Temple.  The LaPierres have ten kids.  The minute I met them (nearly 25 years ago) I was intrigued by their BIG wonderful family and have spent lots of time with them and have lots of fun memories of the good times we've shared.  There's a lot of love in that family.

In December I saw Lee and Dottie at a Christmas concert at the Longfellow Park Chapel (I miss seeing them every Sunday since our ward was split) and we talked in the hallway.  Lee asked for a favor; if I'd take a photo of he and Dottie.  I leaned closer to him and whispered, "Are you going to be a mission president?"  He was stunned.  And I was right!  I said, "Lee.  For over twenty years I've thought you should be a mission president."  He gave me a big hug and asked me not to tell anyone.  They ended up having their picture taken at a studio while I was on my road trip so I didn't get to take their official photo.  Dottie was released as the RSP last Sunday and so the cat is out of the bag.  They will be going to a spanish speaking mission (Lee speaks spanish; Dottie is learning spanish!) in July (they should know soon where they will be going -- watch for it in the Church News).

I'm so happy for them and there are going to be hundreds of lucky missionaries whose lives will be touched by these awesome people.

What a great photo -- WAY BETTER than the studio picture, imho. Great blog series too -- I love it.
