Leaf Peeping

Before I moved to New England I had no concept of Fall. Remember--I grew up in Los Angeles: land of the one season.

When I was in college I remember one of my friends telling me that his mother was going to New England to see the Fall leaves. I thought you had to go somewhere special to see them. Then I moved here and as I tell people now, the leaves on your own street are beautiful! So here are a few photos I took this morning of some leaves in the front of my building on my very own street.

When I left the "Beautiful San Fernanco Valley" (to quote Egon in Ghostbusters) there was a shirt expressign the 4 seasons of So Cal: Riots, Fire, Mudslides and Earthquakes... and we moved to MIchigan!

Your street IS beautiful. I grew up in So. Cal as well (San Gabriel Valley) and thought I had died and gone to heaven when I experienced my first New England autumn. The weather is great in So. Cal, but I'm smitten by the beauty here, and it's esp. nice if you can walk down your own street enjoying the foliage. It's like living on a scenic route...such a treat!

There is nothing like the fall in New England, beautiful scenery, hot cocoa, sweaters and crisp fresh air....

We went leaf looking with the Gillespies one time in New Hampshire and didn't find anything better than the cemetary right down the street from our apartment!
