Chuck and I wandered around Beacon Hill after dinner. I spotted this mid-century modern dresser on the curb and fell in love. Chuck watched over it while I went to get my car and then a guy offered to help him put (shove) it in the trunk. Then we drove to my apartment going 15mph. It took forever and this sucker is heavy, but I'm so glad I got it. Big score!!

TBT: Nan the chaperone
My mom chaperoned the Girl Scout trip to Colorado. I think this photo was taken in Telluride. She was always willing to be where her kids were -- whether it was scouts, church or school. She was a Den Mother, Girl Scout leader, Beehive advisor, Primary president, school volunteer and PTA president. #pattonmemories

My Parker painting
A few years ago my friend Amy asked if her son Parker could paint one of my photographs. I was flattered that he asked and he chose a covered bridge photograph that I took in Vermont. When she asked again he painted some mailboxes that I photographed in Maine. He's a really good artist!
I'm in the process of making an "art collage" for my living room wall (I finally got tired of the Wayne Thiebaud print "Four Cakes" that's been on my wall for decades -- I've already given it away!). I have about a dozen things I'm getting ready to frame and make into a collage. I asked Amy if I could pay Parker to paint one of my photos and he was excited to do it! I sent him the above photo I took at Sankaty Light on Nantucket. I have only been to Nantucket once; with a group of friends. The one thing I wanted to see on Nantucket was see the red/white striped lighthouse. So after lunch (one of the best lobster rolls I've ever had!) we took a cab out to the lighthouse, walked around, took photos, and then walked back to a bus stop and took a bus back to the town. I love this lighthouse! And I'm thrilled to have my Parker Duke original painting!

TBT: Four Corners
The summer I turned 13 my Girl Scout troop spent a week at the Circle K Ranch in Delores, Colorado. We traveled by bus (in our uniforms) and stopped at Four Corners -- where Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona meet. My mom was a chaperone. We went to Mesa Verde, Telluride, and rode horses every day (my least favorite part). That and having tonsillitis. It turns out the family that owned the ranch was LDS. It was a fun and memorable trip. #girlscouttroop1818 #pattonmemories #fourcorners
Peach clobbler
I made a half batch of peach "clobbler" as Adrienne called it when she was little. #bakesomeonehappy #pyrex

Avocados
It's all about timing with avocados. I had three families over for dinner Sunday night and made the California Pizza Kitchen BBQ chicken salad. I bought 4 avocados earlier in the week but worried they wouldn't be ripe so bought 3 more at the end of the week. I should probably just buy 2 every week. #firstworldproblem

Henrietta's Table
This morning I had a work breakfast at Henrietta's Table in Harvard Square. The food was really good and I loved the decor. That green speaks to me.

The tin. Again.
These are banana oatmeal chocolate chip cookies from Kelsey Nixon. They're good. I used my new Kelsey Nixon Essentials hand mixer.
