The best Sunday

Today was one of my best Sundays ever.  To celebrate the anniversary of the beginning of the Relief Society (171 years ago), I asked 5 women in the ward to share "what Relief Society means to me" and then I gave the last talk.  There was a wonderful musical number by nine women ("O My Father") and then for the closing song ALL the women came up to the stand and sang "Let Zion in Her Beauty Rise".  The talks were extremely inspiring and the closing song was awesome.  I'm so glad I recorded the meeting.

And there's more.  Since I've been the RSP, I've wanted to  have a Visiting Teaching Conference and we FINALLY had it today the last hour of church.  Thankfully the young women and some of the men took over teaching so ALL the women could attend the conference.  We had a sack lunch on each chair and then a few women were asked to share some thoughts on visiting teaching and there was time for some spontaneous comments.  I was so touched and inspired by everything that was said.  The lunches were really good -- the chicken sandwiches were delicious.  I was so appreciative for everyone that helped to make today a great Relief Society day!

You are a dynamite RSP, Ellen. I used to love our VT conferences during third hour, too. The women just love this time together.
