This is BIG news

There is going to be a new Market B(asket) in town. Right next to the old one (in Burlington). I heard it's going to be the second largest one in the state. How did we get so lucky? I love M.B. but it's always crowded and the aisles are very narrow. One year at Christmas time it was so crowded and crazy they had people line up around the edges of the store and then fed from that line into the check out lines. It was total Christmas craziness. I hear the new store opens on December 5th. I can't wait.

Walking the track

I went over to the track near the high school this afternoon and walked a mile. Four times around is a mile, right? And, I ran for about a third of a 1/4 of a mile. Whoa.

Recently a friend bought FIVE of my photographs to frame as posters in her office. I was happy to sell them to her and went by today to see them. Wow! That's all I can say. They look really great if I may say so myself.

Back in the early 60's my parents were at a restaurant (it could have been The Brown Derby) eating ice cream with friends after a play or the opera. The friend Mary said, "look at that woman trying to look like Elizabeth Taylor." My mom turned to look and then said, "it is Elizabeth Taylor" (with her then-husband Eddie Fisher).

Apple pie

I wanted to make an apple pie this weekend so I did using a recipe from the red and white checked Better Homes & Garden Cook Book (1976).

This might have been their first family photo shoot. It was freezing so I tried to be speed things up. Those shoes? Shut up. I love them. I hear they might have been a gift from some favorite aunties.

Rainy day

Lens sweet Lens

My favorite lens broke recently but it's repaired and I'm ready to start using it again. I'm glad there is a good camera repair shop nearby AND that they are open late one evening. And I'm glad my friend was willing to loan me her camera for a few photo shoots.

NEW: CVS, magazine, recipe

There's a new CVS in town (well, in Arlington) and I stopped in last night to get some batteries and saw Martha's holiday cookie magazine. I tried the Giant Sugar Cookies recipe tonight and they are delicious. I'm not sure I'll make them SO big next time but I'm sure there will be a next time.

I took family photos for my friends today in their backyard (and in front of a neighbor's old barn). It was a perfect Fall day and a treat to photograph their family. Tara's post gave me an ego boost!
