Doll for Cora

My friend's mom passed away this summer and last month I asked if she had a piece of her mom's clothing that I could repurpose for her.  She gave me a red/blue striped t-shirt that was special to her.  I asked my friend Natalie to make this adorable doll (more subcontracting!) and I got it today and gave it to my friend for her little girl Cora.  My friend was very touched when she saw the doll and Cora immediately hugged it.  There is more of the shirt left and I have plans to make a few more things.

So many women!

I don't ever remember seeing a crowd this big at a Relief Society event.  A woman from the Nashua Stake spoke about her family traveling to Greece this summer and helping refugees.  It was very inspiring.

Women's Broadcast

Our stake is collecting items for refugees in the area and putting together hygiene kits as part of our evening with the Women's Broadcast.  I am going to donate my living room furniture to refugees and the woman pictured here is helping me coordinate that.  I'm so glad we are doing something practical and helpful.  #lotsofpads #cambridgestake #wearemormons

Book Group

I'm hosting Book Group tomorrow night and am preparing some retro refreshments.  The book: "When Everything Changed: the amazing journey of American Women from 1960 to present".  Notice the timer on the microwave?  I'm serving some Patton family favorites--deviled ham sandwiches, green jello with cottage cheese and pineapple, Bugles, and white trash graham cracker treats (poor man's cookie -- chocolate frosting between graham crackers).
