FHE: cleaning the church

The last few times I've had the assignment I've paid a 12 year old kid to do my job (I call it "subcontracting").  Genius, right?  This time it snuck up on me so I did my part and cleaned the chapel.  Here's the thing; I think the people who eat the messy snacks and wear the glittery clothes should clean the chapel.  #amitherudestmormon #dontanswer #layministryofmormonswhoalldotheirshare #iammormon

Arlington Ward youth fireside

I've been pushing for more youth firesides so was happy to host this one tonight.  We invited our bishop and he graciously answered lots of questions about himself.  It was fun to get to know him better and the kids wiped out the pumpkin squares I made and enjoyed the apple cider from Wilson Farms.  We had plenty of seats since I still have my old furniture (my living room looks like a showroom)!  #arlingtonwardyouthareawesome #arlingtonwardfriendsareforever

Rimika and her family are moving back to Japan soon.  She has been a wonderful part of our Young Women's program.  She reminded me recently that when her family moved here a few years ago she spoke no English.  She's a delightful, clever, strong young woman and she will be missed.  #arlingtonwardyoungwomenarethebest

I spy a quilter

I walked past a woman hand stitching the binding on this beautiful quilt right outside the Physics Library where I often spend my lunch hour.  I turned around and went back to talk to her and she was really interesting and creative and she used to work at Gather Here and she told me about a great fabric store in Maine and her name is, are you ready, Ellen.  I'm SEW glad I stopped to talk to her.  #makenewfriends
