Throwback Thursday: Four Corners

This photo was taken right after 7th grade on a Girl Scout trip to Dolores, Colorado.  We stopped at Four Corners on the way to the Circle K Ranch where we spent a week horseback riding and exploring the area (Telluride, Durango, Mesa Verde National Park, and more).  That's me sitting in Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico.

Bucket List: Sound Bites

I've lived here how many years and finally tonight went to Sound Bites?!?  I enjoyed breakfast for dinner: a tomato/cheese/avocado omelet, home fries, a bagel and hot chocolate.  I enjoyed dinner with my friend Judy and am glad I can scratch Sound Bites off my Bucket List.

Nice dresses

When I look back at photos from my childhood, I love all the dresses I had.  My parents had good taste.  They shopped at (are they considered fancy?) stores like Robinsons, Bullocks and Broadway (in downtown LA).  If my brothers read this I'm sure they'll say that I was spoiled rotten (of course I disagree) and got more clothes than they did.  Whatever; I was the only girl!

Sweet P for Patton

When Adrienne was about this age I started calling her "Sweet P for Patton".  I spent a lot of time with her when she was little due to making lots of trips to see her dad when he was sick.  So Sweet P and I have gotten to be good buddies.

A selfie

I went to take her photo and she said, "we have to take a selfie; it's college graduation!" --  Elizabeth, Harvard class of 2014 and Rhodes scholar

Throwback Thursday: the LaPierres

I met the LaPierre family right after I moved to Boston. They had 9 kids at the time (including 2 sets of twins!) which totally intrigued me. My roommate Jennifer and I invited them over for dinner. Jennifer was from a big family and enjoyed cooking for a crowd.  Dottie asked what they could bring to dinner. We told them "chairs". It was a really fun time and we became fast friends. I have so many great memories of this wonderful family (birthdays, baptisms, mission calls, Hill Cumorah Pageant, New York City, Thanksgiving/Christmas, movie nights, etc.).
