This is Jasmine. She had poison ivy on her ankles so she rode with me from the camp to the end of the trek. She joined the church almost two years ago and is the only member in her family. She attends a vocational school (studying health care) and plans to go on a mission when she graduates from high school and then hopes to attend BYU. I told her as we were driving that there is a lot of talk about the early Mormon pioneers that trekked from the midwest to Salt Lake City but the modern pioneers -- like her -- are a big part of our church and are an inspiration. Meeting her was definitely a highlight of a really great day.
