Blog over, man

I've thought a lot about it and have decided I am going to shut down my blog. It's taken a lot out of me to keep up with blogging every day and it's not as fun as it used to be and I'm tired of finding something to take a picture of or write about every day and I can't imagine that my life is all that interesting to people. For a few years I've had an idea for a book and I'd like to spend time working on that project so I will shut down my blog and try to focus on my book idea. Thank you to all of my faithful readers. I have appreciated your comments and encouragement. A few friends have even said my blog is the first thing they read in the morning.  How nice is that?  I've really enjoyed this blogging chapter of my life but it is time to move on to hopefully bigger and better things.  I really think my book is going to be a best seller.

Click here for info about my book idea.

  1. I knew it was april fool's even before I got to the end of your post - you quit blogging? I just don't see that ever happening - I think you are addicted.

Glad your blog is still going to be there tomorrow. Nice joke- but not quite as funny as last April Fool's. You should link that one - it was a classic.

  2. I knew it had to be a joke. But I do think the idea of writing a book would be a good one. The photographic illustrations would be fabulous.

  10. What would your adoring public (or Diana and I) do without our daily dose of Ellen?? ;)

  12. "Say it isn't so."

Whew, I just glanced at the comments.

Now I will go back and read the book idea. Which I hope is not an April Fool's joke. You could write a great book on several no fiction subjects, including but not limited to: Survival of a Ward Activities Chair, Move East, My Friend!, the Guide to Antique Shopping in a Small Car, A Local's Guide to Boston and the Surrounding Areas.

And I thought your April Fool's joke last year was good.

  13. I knew it from the first sentence, mostly because you got me so bad last year with your new boyfriend "A.Fools". Remember him? I totally believed you!

  14. I think last year's epic post will blow your cover on all future AF days. Kind of like the boy that cried wolf.

  24. That's it. I'm through visiting this blog.

Ellen ... that was a TOTALLY uncool practical joke.

You've just lost a commenter here.

    APRIL FOOLS!

    aAAAAAaaaAaaAAAaaaa ....

Not nearly as good as yours ... but I thought I'd at least get in the "holiday" spirit and play along.

    hee hee.

If I hadn't come to your blog LOOKING for an April Fool's joke (remembering last year's as the best one of last year) you would have had me.
But if you hadn't of already gotten me last year, you totally would have gotten me this year.

    Good one!

  27. I'm just lucky I didn't see it until April 2nd! Last year's was certainly a good one! Like others have said, I'm sure you would do a great book (but you can't do it on blog time!).

  29. You are so clever with your april fools jokes... you've gotten me both times. Does that mean I'm really gullible?? Anyhow we are coming out for Patriots Day so we'll see you soon, still hanging out at mile 19?
