First stitches (ever)

This morning was the additional surgery on my finger. I asked the doctor how many stitches there were and he said, "492. I always tell people 492." Hahaha, doctor. (There are 8. My favorite number!)

So far the worst part has been all the @#$%& typos. I'm going nuts pickimg at the keyboard. My finger stays wrapped for 2 days. Then I treat it with bacitracin and band-aids. And the 492 stitches come out in 2 weeks.

P.S. I'm a lousy hand model and left-handed photographjer.

i didn't make it three years of life without stitches. I've had so many that i couldn't possibly count them. i was especially thrilled as a kid whenever my cuts were "super glue-able"...they had to be a certain depth, and straight, clean lines to go that route. But the superglue was infinitely preferable to the needle and cat-gut method in my opinion. (no, twasn't a humble opinion)

the mail carrier just came (i could just say mailman and it would be accurate, although not politically correct) and brought me a lovely card. that was so thoughtful of you! brightened my (4 inches of fresh) snowy day. will spring be entirely skipped this year? will we go straight from snow to baking blistering heat?

thank you Miss Ellen! Take good care of yourself and that hand! ♥

I'll be right over because I'm pretty sure you DO need a casserole. THAT looks serious.

Hope your finger recovers. I can't imagine you not using your hands and fingers; you're always up to something!

This stuff is scary, I just hate that now we will spend the rest of our lives having things cut off of our bodies. Hope it heals quickly.

I'm sure you won't let the stitches slow you down for a second, even though it's the perfect excuse. Hope your finger gets better fast.

Get better soon. That is pretty amazing that you have never had stitches. I agree you should call on the RS to help you out!
